Hello Family and Friends -
My Mom/Helen was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this afternoon.
I am setting up this blog to keep everyone posted on this journey that has been set before her. You can check back as often as you like - I will post any news here and you can leave her comments and such if you wish.
My mom had a Mammogram in Brenham last summer and was "not happy with it." I would call that a nudge from the Holy Spirit...so she scheduled an appointment with a specialist in Houston. They found two lumps in her left breast yesterday (Wednesday April 15th) and did an on-the-spot biopsy. They said it would take 3-5 days to get the results, but they called back this afternoon to tell her that it was cancer.
The next step is to make an appointment for an MRI and then the process of choosing an oncologist. At which point I suspect we will find out what stage cancer she has and the treatment options/timeline.
I wish I knew more details, but this is where we are at for now. Please pray for her with everything you have got - she has a couple of hard months ahead of her and will need lots of prayer, love and support. She is in great spirits, ready to kick some tail, it is the rest of us who are trying to hold it together - we love you Mom from the depths of our soul and we're right beside you and God is already out in front.

Psalm 16:8-9
I have set the LORD always before me.
Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure.
